The American Heart Association states that nearly half of all American adults have high blood pressure and many don’t even know it! That’s the reason why high blood pressure is nicknamed the “silent killer”. Having high blood pressure puts you at a higher risk for heart attack and stroke which could be fatal. Consistent elevated blood pressure may cause damage to the heart, blood vessels, kidneys and more. For some, visiting the dentist occurs more regularly than seeing a primary care physician. This gives us the opportunity to catch high blood pressure early and refer you to see your primary care physician to control it before any serious damage occurs.
